MASTER OF ACCOUNTANCY IN FINANCIAL ACCOUNTING
Generally, applicants should apply during their senior year of college using the Rutgers Business School MBA Application Form. However, applicants who are working can also apply to this program using the Rutgers Business School MBA Application FormThe following are required to complete your application package:

For Rutgers Business School accounting graduates who have at least a 3.0 GPA; the GMAT  and letters of recommendations are waived.  The application deadline is for the summer is March 31; for the fall, July 1; and for the spring, November 1.

MASTER OF ACCOUNTANCY IN GOVERNMENTAL ACCOUNTING
Candidates for the program should hold a bachelors degree in accounting or if their undergraduate degree is not in accounting, work experience equivalent to the subject matter covered in an undergraduate degree in accounting. Admission to the Program is competitive and candidates must meet the graduate admissions requirements of Rutgers Business School-Newark and New Brunswick.

Tuition and Application
Tuition is based on the Rutgers Business School graduate fee structure and is annually adjusted.

Candidates working within government, regardless of state residency, are eligible for in-state tuition.

Location
All required courses and suggested program electives are provided online. Students also may select electives from a variety of other programs, including MPA, MBA, and other accountancy courses. In-state students have the option of selecting in-classroom electives on the New Brunswick and Newark campuses with the approval of the program director.

MASTER OF ACCOUNTANCY IN TAXATION
Ideal candidates for the program, which is administered on a part-time basis, should hold a bachelor's or master's degree with an accounting background, or have practiced in the area of taxation.  Candidates must meet the admissions requirements of Rutgers Business School: Graduate Programs — Newark and New Brunswick including a grade point average of 3.0 or better, and a GMAT score falling in the top one-third. Candidates do not need to have calculus and statistics as pre-requisites. The GMAT may be waived in certain instances if the candidate is a CPA.   Admission to the Rutgers-Newark School of Law is not a requirement for admission to the program.

PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTING MBA
No previous business or accounting experience is needed. Liberal arts undergraduates are encouraged to apply. You must have a bachelor's degree, good GPA and GMAT scores, and strong references. High motivation is required because of the intensive nature of the studies. Admission is on a full-time basis on the Rutgers Newark campus only.

MASTER OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

To apply, please complete an application for the RBS doctoral program.  On the page where you are asked to choose a program of study, you have three options:

1. You may apply for the Master of Information Technology program only.
2.You may ask for your application to be considered first for the doctoral program in Information Technology and then (if you are not accepted in the doctoral program) for the Master of Information Technology program.
3. You may ask for your application to be considered first for the doctoral program in Accounting Information Systems and then (if you are not accepted in the doctoral program) for the Master of Information Technology program.

Simultaneous enrollment in the Master of Information Technology program and the doctoral program is not permitted.

MASTER OF QUANTITATIVE FINANCE
We seek a diverse student body to bring to the classroom varying experiences and backgrounds. Rutgers Business School — Newark and New Brunswick admits those students who, in the opinion of the Graduate Admissions Committee, show promise of succeeding in the program. Primary consideration is given to the applicant’s scholastic record and the GRE or GMAT score. Other considerations include professional work experience, professional appraisals, civic leadership and extracurricular participation, responses on the application form, and the essay.

*Note: We admit on a rolling basis, so the sooner you apply the better.

Application Checklist
Along with the Application Form, applicants must submit:

  1. Application fee (non-refundable) of $65.00
    Checks and money orders should be made payable to Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey. Do not send cash. (The fee for unemployed NJ residents is $20.00.)*
  2. Official Transcripts
    Applicants must submit an official transcript for each undergraduate and graduate institution attended.
  3. GRE or GMAT Test Results
    Official GRE or GMAT test results, taken within five years from the term of entrance, are required.

  4. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
    You must submit this test if your native language is not English. Not required of students who have done 3 or more years of their undergraduate work or have obtained a graduate degree in the U.S.

  5. Professional Appraisals
    A. You must provide two letters of reference.
    B. Current Resume
    C. Essay
    You must submit an essay either (a) describing an ethical dilemma you have faced and how you resolved it; (b) explaining what you have learned from your experience as a member of a team whose project was not completed successfully; or (c) identifying three accomplishments in your professional career and explain how they demonstrate your potential to become a successful manager.
