Advanced Standing and Challenge Exams

Traditional Full-Time MBA Students

The Full-Time MBA degree is 60 credits. However, Full-Time MBA students may receive advanced standing/transfer credit for prior academic work.  All requests for advanced standing by Full-Time MBA students must be made prior to the start of classes. A student may be considered for a maximum of 6 credits of advanced standing. If a student does not submit a request for advanced standing prior to the start of classes, they forfeit the opportunity to receive advanced standing for courses taken prior to enrolling in the Rutgers Full-Time MBA program.

Note: RBS will not accept any credits that were used to confer a Master's degree.

 

Part-Time MBA Students

Effective Fall 2017, the Part-Time MBA degree is 54 credits. However, Part-Time MBA students may receive advanced standing/transfer credit for prior academic work. All requests for advanced standing must be made prior to the end of the first semester of the program. A student may be considered for a maximum of 6 credits of advanced standing. If a student does not submit a request for advanced standing by the end of their first semester, they forfeit the opportunity to receive advanced standing for courses taken prior to enrolling in the Rutgers MBA program.

Challenge Exams

Part-Time MBA students may apply to sit for a challenge examination in a select number of core courses. There is a $50 fee for each examination. The challenge exam schedule and information are posted below. Challenge exams must be taken in advance of the start of the semester in which the course is offered. A student may not take a challenge examination for the same course more than once or for a course they have taken and failed. A Part-Time MBA student has four (4) semesters to complete challenge exams. Students in the Traditional Full-Time MBA program are not eligible to take challenge exams.
