Black and Hispanic MBA Association

Our mission is to promote and encourage professional networking and social interaction among Black & Hispanic MBA students, Rutgers Business School, and the corporate sector.

Our goals include the following:

  • Increase the number of underrepresented minorities in the MBA program as well as in the corporate world by fostering mentoring relationships with alumni to MBA’s
  • Promote and coordinate with local chapters, like NSHMBA & NBMBA, for networking events
  • Host speaker events for students to learn about topics like networking and career progression

Executive Board

Emory Boyland, Co-President
Emory earned his J.D. from Michigan State University College of Law in 2014 and his B.A. in Government and Legal Studies from Bowdoin College in 2010. Prior to becoming a full-time MBA student at Rutgers Business School, he spent four years in program management. In his most recent role as Program Manager of Jenesse Center, Inc.'s IMPACT LA Legal Clinic, Emory created and implemented SOP's for gathering sensitive information from and providing services to potential clinic participants seeking legal assistance in the areas of immigration, housing, and public benefits. He has also served as Managing Editor of the Michigan State International Law Review. Upon graduating, Emory plans to pursue a career in supply chain management.
Crystal Rodriguez, Co-President
Crystal is a full-time MBA student specializing in Finance and Strategy. Prior to attending Rutgers Business School, she worked within the financial services industry, both as a foreign currency trading client support associate and a premium finance specialist. During her professional experience, she worked with a diverse group of individuals throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. Crystal intends to utilize her ability to reach and connect with individuals to support and mentor the growth of the Black and Hispanic community with the Rutgers Business School.
Romelia Bury, VP Communications
Romelia (Romy) is a Pharm.D. with over 13 years of pharmacy retail experience. Before coming to RBS she was a Pharmacy Manager and Area Recruiter at Walgreens. In her time as a manager she spearheaded several projects such as securing and executing a 2,000-dose flu immunization clinic contract for the Jersey City Board of Education. Romy came to RBS to concentrate in Pharmaceutical Management and Marketing in order to pursue a career in the pharmaceutical industry so that she may have a larger reach in the community and continue to create a positive impact.
Tiffany Campolongo, VP Alumni Relations
Tiffany Campolongo is a full-time MBA candidate concentrating in Pharmaceutical Marketing and Management. Previously she was a Regional Marketing Manager at a NJ biotech company where she managed numerous lead generation initiatives and served as product manager for a small service line. Prior to that she earned a PhD in Bioengineering from Cornell University. Tiffany believes in the power of harnessing science to save lives, and plans to use her MBA training and past experiences to develop solutions that ensure the best treatments will be available to the patients that need them.
Giovann DeLeon, VP Treasury
Giovann has 5 years of experience in the financial services industry and completed his undergraduate studies at Rutgers University – New Brunswick. With experience working at M&T Bank and Hudson City Savings Bank, Giovann’s primary role was to service and maintain a large and diverse clientele base along with managing the vendors for his office. During the merger between M&T Bank and Hudson City Savings Bank, Giovann devised and implemented several process improvement initiatives increasing efficiency in customer service and branch operations. Armed with this experience and new found interest Giovann is now pursuing an MBA in Supply Chain Management.
Carmen Fano, VP Cultural Leadership
Carmen Fano is a full-time MBA student specializing in Finance and Strategy. She has a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management from San Marcos University (Lima-Peru). She has over nine years of experience mainly in the Financial Services industry where she gained quantitative and analytical skills by working side by side with the Lending department. Carmen is passionate about diversity influencing the growth of the economy and business. She is proud to serve as VP of Cultural Leadership of BHMBAA.
