Description: Professor Kurtzberg’s primary research focuses on technology and communication in the modern organization. A series of studies demonstrate how communicating via computer (e-mail and instant messenging tools, for example) changes the very nature of interaction in business settings. More specifically, research on how each negotiations, giving and receiving feedback, group cooperation, knowledge sharing, and blame happen online demonstrate differences from more traditional face-to-face interaction. A secondary line of research explores creativity and conflict in team settings. Her published work appears in Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, Group Dynamics, Creativity Research Journal, and Negotiation Journal.
