Juris Doctor / Master of Business Administration in Professional Accounting
The candidate for Juris Doctor (JD) / Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Professional Accounting dual degree program usually must complete one full year of courses at the Rutgers School of Law before applying to Rutgers Business School. The GMAT test is required. The MBA in Professional Accounting program is offered on the Rutgers Newark campus.
If accepted, the student may substitute two Law School courses for Business Law I (22:835:510) and Business Law II (22:835:511) and may substitute two additional courses for Income Taxation (22:835:603) and for Corporate Income Taxation (22:835:605), provided the law courses offered for substitution have substantially covered the material in the two Rutgers Business School tax courses. Candidates for this degree should apply and plan to enroll in the summer trimester after completing two years of law school. This will permit the student to complete the MBA in Professional Accounting program in the third year of study, and to return to the Law School program during the fourth year.
Applications and course catalogues for the Rutgers School of Law can be obtained through their website.
