Professor, UMDNJ, Robert Wood Johnson Medical School

I enrolled in the Rutgers Executive MBA program in 2004 to sharpen my administrative and leadership skills and learn new ideas that I could take back to my workplace as well as to several non-profit organizations with which I volunteer. My goal was to make our efforts more efficient and productive.  Two areas I am particularly focused on are leadership and marketing.  For example, the marketing class taught by Professor Sharan Jagpal was exceptional.  Professor Jagpal specializes in strategic decision-making under uncertainty and he integrates principles from microeconomics, finance, statistics, supply chain management, and macroeconomics into his lectures.  Although the class is rigorous, he made it simple for us so that we understood the critical relationships among key concepts and appreciated the scientific foundation of marketing.  In addition, the course gave us the opportunity for us to try out real marketing research.  Overall, I found all faculty teaching in the Rutgers Business School’s Executive MBA program to be first-rate.

I am a full-time professor of medicine and chief of endocrinology, metabolism and nutrition at UMDNJ – Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and also volunteer with several non-profit organizations.  Pursuing this graduate degree at the same time was challenging.  However, I have been able to succeed by setting priorities and using appropriate time management strategies.  Thanks to the dedicated staff of the Executive MBA program who made the entire experience easier.  The staff is very accommodating and efficient.  In addition to the user-friendly process of Rutgers EMBA registration, program staff provided us with our text books and materials in timely fashion, arranged on-campus parking, and even made sure that  we had healthy breakfasts and lunches on all class days.  They proactively anticipated our needs and made the process as seamless as possible.

I strongly recommend without any hesitation the Rutgers EMBA program to anyone who wishes to hone his or her skills in management.
