CEO Lecture Series featuring Gary Cohen: "Shared Values - A New Approach to Business and Capitalism"

Please join us for our next installment in the highly anticipated Rutgers Business School CEO Lecture Series featuring Gary M. Cohen, Executive Vice President, BD. Gary will be discussing the topic: "Shared Values – A New Approach to Business and Capitalism."

Dean Glenn Shafer and the Rutgers Business School Board of Advisers welcomes all students, faculty, staff, alumni and board members to attend.

For this lecture, Gary will explore the concept of shared value (developing linkages between business strategies and corporate social responsibility) and how it can unleash the next wave of global growth and redefine capitalism within an organization.

As an Executive Vice President at BD, Gary serves is an Executive Officer of the Company and is a member of the Corporate Leadership Team. Mr. Cohen is responsible for all of BD’s geographic operations globally, comprised of 55 countries worldwide.

Mr. Cohen began his career with BD in 1983 as a Marketing Research Analyst. He became President of BD’s global Injection business (now Medical Surgical Systems) in 1994. In 1996, he was named President of Sample Collection (now Preanalytical Systems). The following year, he was also appointed President of BD for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He held the position of Executive Vice President of the Company from 1998 to 1999 and President of the Medical Segment from 1999 to 2006.

In his role as Executive Vice President, Mr. Cohen dedicates a significant amount of his time to addressing health issues in developing and emerging countries. He has made this personal commitment because he believes that BD’s capabilities and experience can help to save and improve countless lives around the world.

Mr. Cohen earned his B.A. degree at Rutgers College and his M.B.A. degree at the Rutgers Graduate School of Business, where he previously served as a member of the University’s Board of Trustees.
