Mini-MBA: Lean Six Sigma - Curriculum

Innovative Methodology - How is this program different from other Lean Six Sigma training programs?

Our Coaches focus on operational excellence and not just implementation of certain tools and instruction on statistics and Mini-Tab. You will get a holistic training on how to manage change by going over topics related to Lean Six Sigma, Risk Management, Project Management and Stakeholder Management. The course content has direct alignment with Six Sigma Body of Knowledge developed by American Society for Quality (ASQ).

Our Coach will also share several case studies demonstrating successful deployment of Lean Six Sigma in various sectors, throughout the program. Participants in the program are required to work on a real project and apply the tools and skills that they are learning including the Do’s and Don’ts to deploy Lean Six Sigma and achieve process improvement and Operational Excellence.

  • History and Evolution of Quality Management
  • Introduction to Lean & Six Sigma
  • Why Six Sigma
  • DMAIC and DMADV Approaches

LEAN Concepts

  • Forms of waste
  • Introduction and background of Lean mindset
  • Introduction of various Lean tools, such as Kaizen & Kaizen events, Poka Yoke devices, Visual Factory, Value Stream and others
  • Explanation of 7 forms of waste along with types of activities in a process (Value added vs. Non-Value Added)
  • Theory of Constraints

Define Phase

  • Six Sigma and Project Management –similarities and differences
  • Learn the importance of a Six Sigma Project Charter
  • As-Is Process Mapping explanation and drafting
  • Management of team dynamics for maximum success

Measure Phase

  • Learn the important tools of Six Sigma including, SIPOC to identify customers and suppliers
  • Review Stakeholder impact and effort analysis
  • Learn ways to collect and interpret the voice of the customer and 7 basic tools of quality
  • How to collect and measure data using the Pareto Analysis

Analyze Phase

  • Learn effective and efficient brainstorming techniques
  • Understand the importance and how to use Affinity Diagrams
  • Understand the importance and how to use Fishbone Diagram
  • Effective use of the Root Cause Analysis

Improve Phase

  • Explanation of the solution planning matrix
  • Review As-Is Process Map
