Raymond E. Rossi
Professor Rossi earned a B.A. in zoology from Rutgers in 1969 and an MBA in marketing from Rutgers in 1975. He started his career as a quality control chemist at a subsidiary of CPC (Corn Products Corp). Rossi began in marketing as an Industry Manager at Merck & Co., Inc. before becoming the Marketing Manager at Crompton & Knowles in 1978. This was his entry into the flavor industry where he spent the rest of his business career. After C & K, Rossi went to another flavor company named Fritzsche Dodge & Olcott, which was owned by BASF AG as the International Marketing Manager. He progressed to the VP – Marketing before leaving to go to Givaudan in 1989. At that time Givaudan was owned by Hoffman LaRoche. Givaudan acquired Fritszche in 1991, and by 1994 Rossi was the Executive Vice President of Givaudan’s North America flavor division. Givaudan is now the largest global flavor company. In 1996, Rossi joined Haarmann & Reimer as President of the North America flavor division. H & R was owned by Bayer AG. He continued in that position until Bayer sold H & R in 2002 to the Swedish private equity firm EQT. Since that time, Rossi have started his own consulting company, and have done work for a number of financial firms, flavor companies, marketing companies, as well as for DuPont in Wilmington, DE.
