James Sawhill
Professor Sawhill’s major focus is developing market-based empirical tests for consumer behavior theory. His dissertation addresses how consumers trade off capital and operating costs when purchasing durable goods. His other research interests include industrial organization, consumer choice models, and marketing and public policy.
While at the University of California, Berkeley, Professor Sawhill won three teaching awards, including the award for most outstanding graduate student instructor in the business school.
Professor Sawhill draws on extensive industry experience in his research and teaching. He has been a Senior Vice President at Wells Fargo Bank and a consultant with Booz, Allen and Hamilton.
