The Department of Supply Chain Management and Marketing Sciences (SCMMS) invites applications for a full time instructor position in logistics, transportation, and supply chain management, to begin on July 1, 2014. Successful applicants should hold a master’s, or a higher degree, in either of the areas of Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related business discipline.  Industry executive experience is preferred. Successful candidate must have a proven record of managing real life supply chains, and excellence in teaching and communication. The candidate is expected to teach undergraduate, MBA, and executive training courses, to be actively involved in industry projects and grant work, to interface with industry, and to advise undergraduate and MBA students.  Candidates with a strong knowledge and extensive industry experience in logistics and transportation management would be highly desirable for the position.

The SCMMS Department is a newly created multidisciplinary group charged with carrying out a strategic mission of the Rutgers Business School.  It combines top faculty in Supply Chain Management (SCM) and Marketing Science whose teaching and research are closely aligned with industry trends in end-to-end SCM and the integration of SCM and Marketing. The Rutgers Business School is located in New Jersey in the middle of the New York/Philadelphia metropolitan area, in close proximity to numerous headquarters of global firms, and major sea/air ports on the Eastern seaboard. The SCMMS department interacts regularly with industry through the well-established Rutgers Center for Supply Chain Management, which partners with many global companies in the tri-state area (NJ, NY, CT) and beyond.  The Department has a large and active Ph.D. program and offers degrees in Supply Chain Management and Marketing Science.  The Rutgers SCM program has been ranked 3rd in the nation by the 2011 Gartner Report.  For more information, please visit our website.
