Dean's Advisory Council students coordinate $250,000 donation to Haitian relief efforts

Tuesday, September 28, 2010

Past President of the RBS Deans Advisory Council Jonathan Walker collaborated with current President Rebecca Yuschak to coordinate the donation of over $250,000 worth of medical supplies and equipment to relief efforts in Haiti.

The medical equipment was donated via Robert Wood Johnson Medical Hospital and contained supplies such as care kits, gloves, disinfectant wipes, splints, catheters, feeding tubes, syringes etc. The supplies went to Four Square Relief and Compassion, a non-profit organization with the goal of meeting the needs of disaster victims around the world.

The Deans Advisory Council is an undergraduate honorary organization committed to community involvement by providing venues for RBS students to give back to the community. Other events include: a clothing drive in association with the Veterans Association, Earth Day volunteering in association with the Newark Conservancy, walking for a cause with both March for Babies and the leukemia and lymphoma society etc.

The Deans Advisory Council is a great example of how Rutgers Business School students are giving back to the community!
