Sharon Lydon appointed Executive Director of MBA Programs

As the new 2011-2012 academic year approaches, many exciting things are happening here at Rutgers Business School. New programs are being formed, a new building is being built, and new faculty have arrived. For MBA students, one to note is that Sharon Lydon, RBS professor and former Associate Dean of Academic Programs, has been appointed to be the new Executive Director of MBA Programs.

Dean Lydon is committed to the students’ MBA experience and continuous improvement of the MBA program to meet the complex changes in our global economy.  “I am absolutely delighted to be appointed,” said Dean Lydon. “I look forward to getting to know each and every one of the MBA students.”

Before Dean Lydon’s current appointment, she successfully led eight academic programs as the Associate Dean of Academic Programs including:

  • Executive MBA
  • MBA - Full-time and Part-time
  • MBA in Professional Accounting
  • Masters in Accounting -Tax, Financial Accounting & Governmental Accounting
  • Masters in Quantitative Finance
  • Undergraduate Program in Newark

She was also the Associate Dean of the Undergraduate Program in Newark.  Her corporate experience includes management consulting in the Global Management Strategies Department at Estée Lauder Companies, New York, N.Y, and Accenture.

Dean  Lydon teaches Global Leadership and Leading Organizational Change in RBS’s highly-regarded Executive MBA Program, the International Executive MBA Program in China, and the Center for Management Development.  She has a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from George Washington University with a research focus on Entrepreneurial Leadership in High-Technology Firms.  In addition, she has been awarded Masters and Undergraduate degrees from Columbia University and Gettysburg College, respectively.
