Women’s Business Leadership Initiative Program Recruiting New Members

March 5, 2009

Rutgers Business School Women’s Business Leadership Initiative (WBLI) is currently recruiting members for the 2009-2010 academic year!

WBLI is an innovative women’s leadership program to provide RBS students who demonstrate academic excellence with opportunities to develop their leadership potential. Through mentorship, workshops, career exploration events and coursework, WBLI is a highly sought after launching pad for women in business. This year (in April), we are launching the Annual WBLI Golf Clinic held at the Rutgers University Golf Course with RU PGA Golf Pro, Jill Jerauld. Along with learning the basics of playing golf, WBLI participants will learn the various benefits of golf such as: business networking and relationship building opportunities, how business deals are often realized on the golf course, and more. This is just one example of the wonderful opportunities offered to participants of WBLI. The program aims to prepare women for the transition into the workplace while empowering them for long-term successful careers.

By offering unique specialized programs in a collaborative environment, Rutgers Business School delivers the business, science and technology credentials demanded by global corporations.

“WBLI aims to give women business students, real-world, learning experiences so students are prepared when they step out into the corporate world,” said Nadine Alexandre, Director of WBLI. “Our goals are consistent with Rutgers Business School’s goal of providing the learning edge that will make Rutgers graduates stand out.” WBLI promotes academic excellence, leadership, community service, entrepreneurship and as such we award participants of the program who excel in these areas.

Participants of the program must be entering their junior year of undergraduate business studies in fall 2009 with a minimum GPA of 3.0 to apply. If you are interested, please contact Nadine Alexandre, at nadinem@business.rutgers.edu for an application and visit the web site at business.rutgers.edu/WBLI to learn more.
