Hui Xiong awarded $18,000 research grant by Panasonic

Assistant Professor Management Science & Information Systems Hui Xiong was recently awarded an $18,000 non-restricted research grant by Panasonic Technologies, Inc. The grant was awarded to him as a result of the research accomplishments he has achieved in the area of data mining for security and safety of society.Xiong’s expertise is in data mining, statistical computing, geographic information systems, biomedical informatics, and information security. He has published prolifically in refereed journals and conference proceedings, such as IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering, the VLDB Journal, the Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery Journal, ACM SIGKDD International Conference on Knowledge Discovery and Data Mining (KDD), SIAM International Conference on Data Mining (SDM), IEEE International Conference on Data Mining (ICDM), and ACM International Symposium on Advances in Geographic Information Systems (ACM GIS).
