Beginning in his sophomore year at Rutgers Business School, Saiyid Abbas Raza visited the undergraduate Office of Career Management in Newark at least once a semester for a mock interview.

He wanted to polish his presentation, get more confident answering questions and absorb as much coaching as he could from Wanda Mendez, the office's career management specialist.

"I wanted to be prepared," Raza said.

His persistence paid off. When he graduated in May, Raza had already accepted a full-time job offer with Ernst & Young, where he is working in IT Risk Assurance in the company's financial services area. Those practice interviews also helped him to get three internships before the Ernst & Young offer.

Raza and other students like him - many of whom regularly visited the undergraduate Office of Career Management for counseling, practice interviews and resume workshops - help explain the strong employment outcomes for Rutgers Business School's Newark undergraduates.

Of the 499 seniors who completed a survey from the Office of Career Management, 92 percent reported having secured a full-time job within six months of graduation. The survey was emailed to a total of 605 students who graduated in October of 2013, last January and May of 2014.
