Heart Juice wins 2012 Rutgers Business School Business Plan Competition. Will your idea be next?

To start a new business these days you need more than a great idea. You also need savvy advice, a solid business plan and seed capital. At Rutgers Business School, aspiring entrepreneurs can find the help they might need to launch a new idea by participating in the annual Business Plan Competition.

The competition allows Rutgers students and alumni to compete for $40,000 in funding, provided by the Sales Executives Club of Northern New Jersey Foundation. Executive summaries are due Dec. 7 and final plans must be submitted by Jan. 25, 2013.

"The competition is a great opportunity for students to take their entrepreneurial spirit and make something real, plus it's a chance for the business school to help create new businesses," said Richard Romano, a member of the RBS Board of Advisers and president of the Sales Club Foundation.

The three winning entries from the 2012 competition illustrate the value of the competition. The winners represent a diverse group, including a traditional consumer goods company selling a new line of healthy drinks and two ventures focused on social media and the iPad. In the six months since receiving this honor, the winners have put the capital resources to good use fulfilling their visions.
