A team of Rutgers MBA students won honorable mention in the second annual biopharmaceutical case competition hosted at Rutgers Business School on Nov. 15.

The Rutgers team was composed of second-year MBA Pharmaceutical Management students Jason Bloom, Michael Kwatkoski, Manasa Parakala and David Weintraub.

Teams from seven schools spent a week completing a case that required the students to explain how they would carry out the launch of a new cancer medicine. In a day-long competition on Nov. 15, the students presented their cases to a panel of seven judges, all professionals working in the pharmaceutical industry, and then spent time fielding questions from the judges.

"It was a difficult case, but it was a great learning experience," Rutgers Business School student Parakala said.

Rutgers Business School graduate students, alumni plan to make football tailgating event a tradition

On a sunny autumn morning, Rutgers Business School graduate students, alumni and staff helped to start a new tradition.

They gathered inside a heated tent for a catered tailgate party before the Rutgers-Cincinnati football game in Piscataway on Nov. 16.

"I go to a lot of networking events. This one was more casual," said Danielle Burkhardt, who received a Rutgers MBA in 2010 and is an active member of the Rutgers Business School Alumni Association."It was a different atmosphere than the usual networking event at a bar."
