KPMG renews its support for Rutgers Business School's Continuous Assurance and Reporting Laboratory

NEWARK, NJ – KPMG LLP, the audit, tax and advisory firm, has renewed its support for Rutgers Business School’s Continuous Assurance and Reporting Laboratory (CAR-Lab). The research that has emerged out of this collaboration has spawned many new techniques and methods for “real time” financial reporting and auditing that is helping businesses improve their audit practices.

Continuous auditing and monitoring refers to companies utilizing timely, updated, audited information on demand.

New $50,000 scholarship for supply chain management students provided by ISM Pharmaceutical Forum

The Department of Supply Chain Management and Marketing Sciences (SCMMS) was given a large boost towards fulfilling one of its main goals “to prepare a new generation of business graduates to meet future challenges in supply chain management” thanks to a brand new $50,000 endowed scholarship provided by the Institute for Supply Chain Management (ISM).

Dean Lifei Wang honored and named RBS Distinguished Visiting Scholar

On August 13th, Dean Cooper, faculty and other members of the Rutgers Business School community welcomed and recognized Dean Lifei Wang of the University of International Business and Economics (UBIE), a global partner and supporter of RBS, to the 1 Washington Park Executive Boardroom. He was honored and named an RBS Distinguished Visiting Scholar after he gave an informative presentation on Higher Education Reform in China. David Diao, another RBS supporter who introduced Dean Cooper to Dean Wang was named an RBS Honored RBS Asian Business Associate.

RBS team takes 2nd in Johnson & Johnson national case competition

This spring, ten RBS student teams competed in the annual Johnson & Johnson Local Case Competition applying the skills they learn in class to a real life business case. The winning team, from the Newark campus, moved on to the Nationals held at Johnson & Johnson corporate headquarters in New Brunswick, NJ, and took home second place after competing against nine other prestigious business schools. RBS team members were: Derek Brown, Melissa Duong, Owanate Erekeosima, Yuanqing He, Robert Kierzkowski, Jiangnan Wangs, and Feng Ye.

CUEED presents at Global Social Venture Research Conference in Shanghai

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. presents summer internship opportunities in marketing and R&D for MBA students

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. visited Rutgers Business School (RBS) in early October to present internship opportunities in marketing and research & development available this summer.

In the marketing department, interns will be handling brand planning, sales-force communication, customer segmentation, pricing strategies and marketing analytics. The R&D interns are expected to work on process optimization, strategy consulting, organizational development and change management.

Cory Booker ditches proposal for water authority

Newark has tabled a proposal to create a municipal utility authority to manage the city's water system in order to get additional public input, Mayor Cory Booker said. The city will now call on dt  ogilvie, Professor of Business Strategy and Founding Director of The Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (CUEED) at Rutgers Business School, to create a panel of experts to hash out the issue over six to eight months, and deliver a definitive proposal to Booker and the council.
