RBS team takes 2nd in Johnson & Johnson national case competition

This spring, ten RBS student teams competed in the annual Johnson & Johnson Local Case Competition applying the skills they learn in class to a real life business case. The winning team, from the Newark campus, moved on to the Nationals held at Johnson & Johnson corporate headquarters in New Brunswick, NJ, and took home second place after competing against nine other prestigious business schools. RBS team members were: Derek Brown, Melissa Duong, Owanate Erekeosima, Yuanqing He, Robert Kierzkowski, Jiangnan Wangs, and Feng Ye.

CUEED presents at Global Social Venture Research Conference in Shanghai

The Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (CUEED) traveled to Shanghai, China in November to help lead “The Global Social Venture Research Conference.” The conference was a collaboration between Rutgers Business School (RBS), Shanghai University, and the University of International Business and Economics in Beijing.

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. presents summer internship opportunities in marketing and R&D for MBA students

Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. visited Rutgers Business School (RBS) in early October to present internship opportunities in marketing and research & development available this summer.

In the marketing department, interns will be handling brand planning, sales-force communication, customer segmentation, pricing strategies and marketing analytics. The R&D interns are expected to work on process optimization, strategy consulting, organizational development and change management.

Cory Booker ditches proposal for water authority

Newark has tabled a proposal to create a municipal utility authority to manage the city's water system in order to get additional public input, Mayor Cory Booker said. The city will now call on dt  ogilvie, Professor of Business Strategy and Founding Director of The Center for Urban Entrepreneurship & Economic Development (CUEED) at Rutgers Business School, to create a panel of experts to hash out the issue over six to eight months, and deliver a definitive proposal to Booker and the council.

EU-NJ Business Forum on Financial Services

The second European Union—New Jersey Business Forum, focusing on the financial services industry, will take place on Thursday, June 2nd from 8:30-1:30 at the Heldrich Center in New Brunswick. The Business Forums are funded by a grant from the Delegation of the European Union to the United States. They aim to raise awareness of the EU and of the potential for stronger EU-NJ trade, investment and R&D ties.
