The Victoria Emerging Leaders Program

The Institute for Ethical Leadership's Victoria Emerging Leaders Program (VELP) is an innovative and transformative approach to nonprofit leadership training, acutely focused on increasing the number of highly effective nonprofit leaders who have the practical knowledge and critical thinking skills needed to lead their organizations and better serve their communities.

The VELP Experience

The fellowship combines time-tested elements and benefits of a structured curriculum, peer mentoring, one-on-one coaching, Emotional Intelligence assessment and training, and Life & Career Planning®, a proprietary tool that focuses on personal and professional growth through exploring one’s own values.

The Program runs September through August, meeting one Wednesday a month.

Participation is open to any nonprofit emerging leaders working within Newark; a limited number of seats are available for leaders working in communities outside of Newark. Applicants DO NOT need to be funded by the Victoria Foundation or American Express Foundation to apply to this program.

This is an excellent program that every emerging leader who is serious about their professional development should apply for. VELP will transcend a leader's skill set to the next level.

This program is made possible with support from the Victoria Foundation.

Dates: Program runs annually from September to August, 12 monthly Sessions

Applications are due by Monday, June 24th. Email Vicki Fernandez (VMFmpa@business.rutgers.edu) for questions about the application period.
