Professor Danielle Warren appointed co-editor-in-chief of Business Ethics Quarterly
Danielle Warren, who is part of the Rutgers Business School management and global business faculty, has been named to serve as co-Editor-in-Chief of Business Ethics Quarterly.
The 5-year appointment recognizes Warren’s thought leadership in ethics and her scholarly research that advances understanding of how to promote ethical behavior at work while discouraging unethical behavior.
Business Ethics Quarterly is the flagship journal of the Society for Business Ethics, one of the world’s largest associations of business ethics scholars.
Warren shares the editor-in-chief role with Jeffrey Moriarty, a philosophy professor and executive director of the Center for Business Ethics at Bentley University.
“My new role will allow me to promote the best business ethics scholarship, which not only advances research, but also affects what we teach in our classrooms and the practices that our students implement when they enter business,” Warren said. “Many of the ideas that have been published in the journal – whether they address the ethical dilemmas found in outsourcing, algorithms, leadership, or banking – inform what I have taught in my business ethics courses at Rutgers Business School for over 20 years.
"I look forward to playing a role in shaping the future of scholarship in business ethics for the next five years,” she said.
As part of her role as co-editor-in-chief, Warren will also sit on the society’s board of directors. The board of directors oversees major policy decisions, including those related to finances, annual conferences and collaborations with other professional groups and initiatives to support doctoral students and junior faculty. Warren also will be involved in strategic planning for the society’s long-term health and in ensuring the society’s growth is in line with its objectives.
Warren's appointment helps to strengthen Rutgers Business School's pre-eminence: Nine other Rutgers Business School faculty members serve as editors-in-chief of academic journals that influence a wide variety of business areas and industries, including quantitative finance, economics, digital accounting, management, and technology.
