Master in Marketing Analytics and Insights meets career builder’s needs
While managing social media for a company, Kayla Conley discovered a need for data analysis. This led her to seek a master's program that would equip her with both the quantitative skills and communication abilities needed to translate data into actionable business strategies.
She discovered Rutgers Business School’s Master of Science in Marketing Analytics and Insights (MSMAI) program perfectly fit her interests and career goals.
“The curriculum of this new program incorporated courses such as customer journey analytics, applied AI in marketing, analytics for business intelligence, and customer relationship management,” Conley said. “When I looked up the marketing faculty, with the scholarly knowledge and business experience to apply theory to practice, I knew I had found the right program.”
Conley’s academic pursuits earned her election into the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honor Society and the MSMAI Director’s Award for Academic Achievement for the highest cumulative GPA in the program.
She accepted a full-time position upon graduation. “It is a great feeling to land a job right away and be fully prepared to handle the work,” Conley said. Her first project was a correlation analysis against the company’s first year of revenue. She was very familiar with this process from her coursework and projects, immediately applying her learning to the position.
Conley said, “The highlight of the program was the semester-long marketing consulting capstone project. I was on a team of classmates consulting for a business. At the end, we made a formal presentation to the leadership, who said we did a fantastic job, and they would consider implementing our proposals.”
