Irfan Bora, assistant professor and director of the Master of Accountancy in Governmental Accounting program said: “The program prepares students for careers in public financial management as well as in the area of governmental accounting and auditing.  It is a multidisciplinary program incorporating information systems, public sector budgeting, public finance, ethics and more.”

Students who complete the Master’s in Governmental Accounting program will have the opportunity to gain the Chartered Public Finance Accountant (CPFA) credential that will allow them to work in public finance positions around the world.

Mehrunisa Syed, MA ’17, auditor, Office of Audit Services, Office of the Inspector General, New York City said: “The program was still a juggle with three children, but I could stay up late at night, and I didn’t have to commute to campus. That was really helpful. Most of my fellow classmates were government officials, and I learned a great deal from them through online discussions.”

THE 2020 Best Online Graduate Business Programs rankings assess master's-level business degree programs that are not MBA programs.  U.S. News & World Report calculated the rankings from surveying 188 programs in the areas of engagement: participation and interaction with instructors and classmates; expert opinion of high-ranking academic officials; faculty credentials; student excellence; and student services and technologies.
