Webinar: A Sit Down with Gary Cohen, EVP of Becton, Dickinson and Company

The Signature Leadership Series features live virtual discussions with thought leaders and business leaders from across the industry spectrum.

Rutgers Business School's new Signature Leadership Series presents a virtual discussion with Gary Cohen, executive vice president, Global Health, and president of the BD Foundation at BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), moderated by Noa Gafni, executive director of the Rutgers Institute for Corporate Social Innovation.

Cohen frequently serves as an expert speaker and advocate on advancing health and human rights in various venues, including the United Nations, Vatican, World Bank, World Health Assembly, U.S. Department of State and World Economic Forum-Davos.

At the start of the discussion with Gafni, Cohen recounts his career path and how he came to found the Rutgers Institute for Corporate Social Innovation.  He lives the advice that he gave Rutgers Business School graduates during a commencement address.  Cohen said, “In your walk through life, choose your unplanned paths deliberately.  You cannot plan for everything that is going to happen, but you can have a set of principles behind your decision-making.”

“When I understood how much social impact you could have from the business sector,” Cohen continued, “I made a very deliberate turn toward social impact through the business sector as the focus of my professional life, and a good part of my personal life as well.”

The Rutgers Business School Signature Leadership Series: Lessons of Resilience, Resourcefulness, Responsibility, and Reinvention features live virtual discussions with thought leaders and business leaders from across the industry spectrum. This complimentary biweekly series will give you the opportunity to hear and learn from leadership experts as they share the stories of their journey, talk about lessons learned, and offer insights.
