Ann Marie Callahan is an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice within the Accounting & Information Systems department at Rutgers Business School, as well as a licensed CPA. She has been at Rutgers as an instructor since 2023, and has over 25 years of teaching experience. She graduated magna cum laude with a B.S. in Accounting from Seton Hall University, M.B.A. from Saint Peter’s University summa cum laude, and earned her M.S. in Taxation from Seton Hall cum laude. Ann Marie is pursuing her D.P.S. at Pace University and is currently A.B.D. She worked in both public and private accounting prior to teaching at Rutgers. She began her career with the firm Coopers & Lybrand and stayed in public accounting for about three years. She then worked for Bankers Trust (now Deutsche Bank) in various roles. She also owned her own accounting practice, serving individual and business clients.
Ann Marie is active in the New Jersey Society of CPAs and served on its Board of Trustees and Executive Administration, as well as numerous committees. She is also active in the American Institute of CPAs and served on its Governing Council. She received the NJCPA Ovation Award for Outstanding Educator in 2023.
Ann Marie hopes to bridge the gap between theory and practice in accounting and business. She is a moderator for Road to CPA – Newark campus and enjoys serving as a mentor to her students.
