Bruce E. Segal
RBS Executive Education Lecturer
Bruce E. Segal, Esq. is a seasoned Marketing and Digital Analytics executive who lives to use analytics to harness data to give your strategy and tactics a competitive edge.
Before discovering analytics and strategy as his true calling, he practiced trial law with national law firms in New York and Pennsylvania. Persuading judges and juries to buy his client’s legal positions, set the stage for him to do the same for companies.
With a reputation for turning data into actionable strategies and tactics, Bruce shows companies how to use a customer-centric and data driven approach to uncover new markets, retain high-value customers, and increase profits and sales.
Currently, he works in digital and marketing analytics for Vanguard, a financial services firm. Before that his roles and consulting work combined his analytic discipline with court-experience selling clients’ cases, to increase profit and customer lifetime value.
As V.P. of Consumer Marketing at LuckyLitter, he ran the consumer-facing market research for its new self-cleaning litter box and uncovered the reasons consumers valued it. This led him to name it ScoopFree. He developed marketing programs that established retail distribution on the east coast, landed Amazon as ScoopFree’s first online retailer, and set the stage for a successful exit when PetSafe bought ScoopFree at a significant multiple.
As Marketing & Sales Director of a direct mail firm, he led a successful data-driven direct marketing campaign to acquire and retain clients. New clients delivered 2x more profit than existing clients, grew 72% in six months, and increased annual revenue by 30%.
Bruce’s career also includes running E•S•Q Unlimited, a marketing strategy and analytics firm. Clients included Verizon, Wharton, Dechert, David’s Bridal, and venture-backed start-ups. For one start-up, he co-hosted and produced 40 episodes of The New Media Hour (first of its kind web-TV) where he interviewed CEO’s and CMO’s. He made the show a lead-generation program in-a-box.
