Yaniv obtained his Ph.D. at the Operations Management and Statistics department of Rotman School of Management in the University of Toronto. Before his doctoral studies, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Physics and a Master's degree in Operations Research and Information Engineering from Cornell University.

His research interests lie in the intersection of data analytics, AI, and supply chain resilience. He specializes in applying advanced statistical, economic, and operational methods to different managerial contexts such as transportation and healthcare. Several of his current projects use data to better address operational risks and global supply chain disruptions.
