Students enriched by Deloitte's Future Accounting Leaders Summit
Twenty-seven students from Rutgers Business School were among hundreds of college students from across the country who attended Deloitte’s 2025 Future Accounting Leaders Summit.
The summit is designed to inspire early college students (first- and second- years) to pursue careers in accounting by showcasing the breadth of the profession and fostering meaningful connections. It took place Oct. 24-26 at Deloitte University, a learning and development center the company runs in Westlake, Texas.
The Rutgers Business School students selected to attend the summit were Britany Arredondo, Samatha Mutillo, Arham Rehan, Mayabella Rodriguez, Bella Melendez, Rushi Rana, Ayushi Nawani, Parv Mehta, Yajur Monga, John Lawlor, Nitya Vaidya, Jacob Carmona, Justin Lema, Jonathan Tecalero-Montes, Joseph Dousuah, Shiel Shah, Christian Sullivan, Hrishi Bhatt, George Drury, Miles Hymes, Jason Towindo, Logan Gabbidon, Jolie Catherine Reyes, Andy Liu, Vihaan Agarwal, Mayank Jain, and Romesa Naeem. The students were accompanied to the summit by Rutgers Business School's part-time lecturer Frank Giarratano and Natalia Jouan, a professor of professional practice in accounting.
During the summit, students network with Deloitte professionals, participate in accounting-themed session, experience leading industry topics, connect with their peers from across the country and have an opportunity to hear from distinguished speakers.
"The Deloitte Future Accounting Leaders' Summit was such an incredible experience," said Nitya Vaidya, a sophomore at RBS-New Brunswick. "It opened my eyes to how much opportunity there is in this field."
Vaidya said hearing venture capitalist Rashaun Williams speak made an impression on her. "He talked about creating your own space, staying disciplined, and never losing sight of your goals," Vaidya said. "It reminded me that success isn’t just about talent. It’s about consistency and purpose."
"One of my favorite moments was building bikes for kids," Vaidya said. "It was such a special way to end the day, combining teamwork, impact, and genuine joy. The whole experience reminded me why I chose this path – to grow, connect, and make a difference beyond numbers."
The students weren't the only ones impressed by Deloitte's summit.
"Traveling with this amazing group of students to the Future Leaders Summit at Deloitte University was an unforgettable pleasure," Jouan said. "The mix of collaborative activities, inspiring testimonials, and fun networking - even a fashion show! - truly ignited their passion and broadened their perspective on the accounting profession."
