As the inaugural Assistant Dean of Social Mobility, Access, Innovation, and Leadership, I am honored to welcome you to the Rutgers Business School Office of Social Mobility, Access, Innovation, and Leadership (RBS SAIL Office)!
The RBS SAIL Office (formerly the Office of Diversity Programs) was established in 2013 and is strategically located within the RBS Office of the Dean. This office helps create and sustain a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all RBS community members, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni, where we can study, learn and prepare future leaders to courageously serve the needs of our diverse society.
We have a diverse community at RBS; however, there is still a vast amount of work to be done. The core pillars of Social mobility, Access, Innovation, and Leadership are deeply rooted in everything the RBS SAIL Office does, from student advocacy, pre-college programs, pipeline initiatives, corporate partnerships, and collaborations with community allies. As RBS grows more diverse, creating an inclusive, equitable, and accessible environment for all is more critical than ever.
The RBS SAIL Office prioritizes programs and initiatives that support the diversity goals and academic mission of Rutgers Business School and Rutgers University. Our office supports collaborations and partnerships on diversity initiatives throughout RBS, Rutgers University, and the external community. We also serve as a resource hub for information and expertise regarding social mobility, access, innovation, and leadership issues.
Whether you are a prospective student, current student, alumni, faculty, staff, or guest, as part of your journey at Rutgers Business School, we encourage you to venture outside your comfort zone and take full advantage of opportunities to experience the transformative power of embracing social mobility, access, innovation, and leadership. We invite you to take a closer look at RBS. You will find a community dedicated to cultivating a culture of SAIL excellence and producing diverse leaders who are prepared to blaze a trail in business, industry, and community!
As Assistant Dean, I invite you to explore our website and connect with us. I also encourage you to get involved and do your part to support and promote social mobility, access, innovation, and leadership at RBS as we continue to develop our beloved community.
Whether virtually or in person, we look forward to connecting with you. Our staff is ready to serve you, partner with you, and respond to inquiries at DiversityPrograms@business.rutgers.edu.
Best,
Charles A. Brown
