Road to Supply Chain Leadership program celebrates new inductees and graduating seniors
Rutgers Business School’s annual launch and celebration event for the Road to Supply Chain Leadership (RSCL) program marked an important milestone for both new inductees and graduating seniors. The event welcomed 25 undergraduate and graduate students into the prestigious program, which connects high-potential students with industry opportunities, mentorship, and real-world experience from the beginning of their academic journey.
The celebration brought together sponsors, alumni, faculty, and students from all four RSCL cohorts, underscoring the program’s growth into a strong pipeline for future supply chain leaders. Special guests New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Dale Caldwell and Amy Towers, Chair of the Rutgers Board of Governors, joined the event to congratulate students and offer career guidance. Their remarks emphasized that professional success depends not only on strong performance and technical ability, but also on building relationships, understanding workplace dynamics, and bringing energy, courage, and enthusiasm to every opportunity.
As part of the experience, students met Jeffrey Hermann, CEO of Hermann Services. They toured the warehouse operations, where they observed modern logistics practices and learned about innovations such as Peterbilt electric trucks. They also engaged with representatives from leading sponsor companies, including Bayer, Bristol Myers Squibb, Colgate-Palmolive, Estée Lauder, Johnson & Johnson, Liberty Coca-Cola Beverages, Merck, Pfizer, Shiseido, and Unilever.
The event also celebrated 20 graduating seniors who completed the program after nearly three years of mentorship, internships, and industry immersion. Altogether, the event highlighted RSCL’s mission of bridging education and industry while preparing students for meaningful, successful careers in supply chain leadership.
Professor Sundar Raman, director of the Road to Supply Chain Leadership program, reflected on the program’s continued momentum: “Watching the next generation take their first steps into this industry is something we never take for granted. Across all four cohorts, these students demonstrate what’s possible when ambition meets opportunity—and we’re just getting started.”
